Cotswolds

Went across the pond for the New Year’s holiday to visit Ana, Edward and Persephone. Spent a few days in London on each side of going out to the Cotswolds for some quiet family time. Didn’t get up to much, very much by design. Spent time indoors with the wood-burning stove, reading and having little tea parties with Persephone. Rang the New Year in with Ana and Ed, watching the local broadcast on the rental home’s TV. Stepped out a few times to go shopping in town, which was really giving Hogsmeade vibes (try as I might, I’ve been finding it difficult to fully detach from my Harry Potter nostalgia).

Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving Day. Took Tucker on a long walk to wear him out before guests came over. The streets were quiet and the light was beautiful.

Stuyvesant Park

A sunny autumn walk with Tucker through Stuyvesant park. Sat on a bench to watch the sun come through the leaves.

Jackson Heights

Took the G and E trains to Jackson Heights with Kyle for an impromptu exploration of the neighborhood. As we were exiting the train, we heard a familiar voice speaking over a loudspeaker: Zohran Mamdani just days before the NYC primary. Kyle and I merged with the crowd to hoot and holler before peeling off to walk aimlessly through the streets. It was hovering around 90 degrees, but the streets were shady and tree-lined. Stopped to get a Mister Softee twist cone for the walk.
